The 293-acre state historic site, maintained by Texas Parks and Wildlife, is located on the original townsite of Washington, a major political and commercial center in early Texas.
The site is comprised of three main attractions Independence Hall, Barrington Living History Farm, administered by Texas Parks and Wildlife, and the Star of the Republic Museum, administered by Blinn College.
Visitors are encouraged to begin at the state-of-the-art Visitors Center where the congenial and knowledgeable Texas Parks and Wildlife staff can help you plan your visit and a variety of tour options can be purchased. This facility is free to the public and is the best place to gather information on the park amenities.
Hours of Operation
The park is open and free to the public 365 days a year from 8:00 a.m. until dusk.

Directions
From Houston
Take Highway 290 West to Highway 6 at Hempstead. Take Highway 6 North to Navasota. From Navasota, take Highway 105 West 7 miles and turn left on FM 1155 to Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historical Park.
From D/FW or Waco
From Waco take I-35 to Highway 6 South. Come down Highway 6 South to Navasota. From Navasota take Highway 105 West 7 miles and turn left on FM 1155 to Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historical Park.
From San Antonio
Go I-10 East to Highway 77 North, then take Highway 290 East to Brenham. From Brenham, take Highway 105 East 14 miles and turn right on FM 912 to Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historical Park.
From Austin
Take Highway 290 East to Brenham. In Brenham, take Business Route 290 to Highway 105 East. Go 14 miles and turn right on FM 912 to Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historical Park.
From Brenham
Take Highway 105 East 14 miles and turn right on FM 912 to Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historical Park.
From Navasota
Take Highway 105 West 7 miles, turn left on FM 1155 to Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historical Park.
