Location of Marker: Two miles west of U.S. Highway 283, at site of old Grand, ten miles south of Arnett, Ellis County. Organized after the opening of the Cheyenne-Arapaho lands in 1892, Grand served as the county seat of Day County, Oklahoma Territory, from 1895 until statehood in 1907.
