Frank Johnson, who lived in Kimbell County about three miles northeast of the present town of London, was killed by Indians near the Leon Point, about three miles northeast of his home while he was hunting stock. Frank Johnson was only armed with a butcher knife. When he failed to return, a searching party found his body badly mutilated. Note: Author interviewed J.F. Lindsley, an early settler in that section. The above story is from the book, The West Texas Frontier, by Joseph Carroll McConnell. |
