It was about the year 1867 the savages appeared at the home of Jack Cooper, who lived on the outskirts of the frontier town of Jacksboro. Mr. Cooper, at the time, was away, but his boys exchanged several shots with the Indians who were attempting to steal horses locked in a stable. H.C.
